i've been largely inactive online,as of late,mainly because we've been moving the hardware to a new,larger building. i can honestly say,i've never worked this much,even when i was young. i cashed one check,swear to god,for 101.5 hours.
yeah,i'm tired.

new computer stuff,in the music room. still trying to figure out why i need all this shit. i USED to require only instrumentation and some analog tape device.

on that note...i have something new,almost ready to see the light of day. more musical than my most recent musings,yet,still,mood pieces.

i keep reading that there are technical difficulties here,at dmusic. i'm not gonna claim i understand half of what i read,but,i hope that i can successfully upload something for the masses,soon.

congratulations to leonard cohen,on his recent induction into the rock and roll hall of fame. and,on announcing his first tour in a loooong time. please,god,bring him close to indiana. i am so there.

my first a.a. sponsor died,earlier,this week. i've been gratefully alcohol-free for 16 years,3 months,and 12 days (but,who's counting?),and i would never be here,without him.

i had just turned 40
my friend josh (jdog) turned me onto this really cool website,dedicated to independent music
an entire community of free-thinking individuals
one,big,happy,dysfunctional family
ok,not ALWAYS happy
every family has them,huh?

i'm never gonna put myself in the same league as the

i'm a dabbler...more of an engineer than a musician
yet
you wonderful people have made me feel welcome
and,in a world such as we live in,
is a refreshing change of circumstance
alas,i ramble on about the occasion of my fourth birthday,here

will subside,and i can return to creating
sonic adventures
there IS new equipment in my music room
and,certain,recent changes in my overall lifestyle
should leave me time to try to express
the emotions i've been feeling

on october eighteenth,an elevated f3 tornado hit the city of nappanee,indiana,packing winds in excess of 165 miles an hour. the ace hardware i work for,is,literally a hundred yards from one of the buildings in my webcam. we were OPEN on friday,the nineteenth of october,having lost only our sign and the covering to our greenhouse. i followed a local police car on a drive down u.s.6,and got some startling pictures. there went the neighborhood,so to speak. it's gonna be a while before the dairy queen or the kentucky fried taco re-open. fairmont/gulfstream allegedly will resume production,tomorrow. approximately 200-250 homes and businesses were either damaged or destroyed. amazingly,only five people were taken to local hospitals,none with serious injuries.

i haven't been here for awhile...

life has a way of getting...busy...

of the passing of another of my old crew...

a guy i've known,literally,all my life...

a friend,neighbor,occasional co-conspirator...

business partner,business rival...

fishing buddy,drinking buddy(past tense)...

we went to jail,titty bars,concerts,county fairs,

keggers,truck stops,porno shops,and an assortment

of truly amazing adventures,some of which,

i still can't talk about...(statute of limitations!)

together...

i'm gonna miss you,man...

ok,so john's on vacation,this week.

monday morning,i get to start things off with a little anaesthesia.

i have surgery scheduled for 8:00 in the morning.

nothing overly major,but,my surgeon really wanted to operate,as soon as he finished our little "consultation"

"life is simply,too busy",i told him. "give me two days,and,i'm all yours". so,apparently,i passed my pre-operative ekg and chest x-ray.(taken friday morning)

all systems go. now the nerves set in. i really hate being unconscious (at least,when it's not self-administered)
i hate being shaved...and that whole finger-in-the-butt routine really leaves me flat.

anyhow...my darling wife and daughter are totally being so supportive. patty is on vacation also,and her and krys are devoting their efforts to making me comfortable.

god has truly blessed me with both of them.

i'll update this,soonly,as my vicodin allows...
